Mmmmm thanksgiving was nice, I had planned to go out to a soup kitchen but a friend said there was a van giving out food that needed help this year so I did that instead. I got to meet a few new friends: jeff, brad, ken, shelly, sabrina, and vick who all passed out food with me - hey you all! It was nice and warm outside - really good weather, most of them were people who desperately needed food, although there were a few people who came who really abused the service. Why would you take food from a “needy food drive” if you have money? That is so wrong. We were making food for the poor people and you’d get college kids coming over and taking turkey and stuff who obviously had money. That is so wrong and uncalled for… but watching the expressions of people’s faces who really needed it was truly wonderful and well worth it. It was nice doing something nice for a change.
One of my favorite girly boy callers sent me an email today and asked if I still volunteer at the V.A. hospital, and sadly I don’t. I used to and it was wonderful doing that and maybe eventually I’ll do it again but right now I’ve been so busy with work that driving there has proven difficult. But one thing I HAVE been doing is going to an elder seniors center in my neighborhood where I set up a few easels and paints and stuff and get a handful of the older people together and teach them the art of painting “what you see” which has been kind of nice. It’s a lot easier to do that since it’s closer to home. The V.A hospital is a little far for me to drive to since I moved several months ago. I wouldn’t really call it charity, I call it caring…. I think this world would be a much better place if people would set some time up to teach or share your knowledge with others who want to learn.
I took a plane yesterday to NYC. I am writing this from the heart of New York City in a hot Manhattan hotel overlooking the streets and other tall buildings and tomorrow Charlie and I are going to see the New York Giants at the football game and then afterwards I’ll go spend time at Alana’s house. I can’t wait to meet Alana, I’ve never met her before - so I am thrilled to get the opportunity! She is incredibly beautiful and has a heart of gold to match.
The plane was only half full - I had expecting air traffic to be super full since it was the day after thanksgiving but it was the opposite. There were so few people on the plane that I got to stretch my legs out on the seats beside me and could just lay back and draw. How many times can you say that on a plane? LOL — anyway I head back on Tuesday, I am hoping the ride back won’t be hectic either, so cross your fingers!!
I love you guys and I’d love to do calls with you!!!! I’m super horny and would love some company!
