Mmmm so what did I do today? Taught an art workshop that went really well, I even made some tips in the tip jar - how cool is that? Yay! Today I showed everyone how to do realistic portraits of people and I used Luke (that guy from across the street) as my model and he came in so people could draw him. It’s so nice to have friends who will model for you. This was also the first time I had really really done a guy’s face (at least realistically) so I learned a whole lot from my own teaching. Isn’t it funny that you learn more when you teach to others than when you actually sit and listen? Hmmm funny but true.

Also finished 4 loads of laundry. Yup. FOUR loads. Gulp. You try carrying that up and down a flight of stairs and across town in heels. Hehe well at least I looked cute doing it.
Watching American Idol, I think I’m a closet fan of the show. I pretend I don’t watch it when around my posse but am completely hooked on the show. Always been routing for Nadia Turner this whole time but when she came up there, I was just shocked. The girl has a MOHAWK now. What was she thinking??? She did a Cyndi Lauper song - Time after Time … uh… damn girl get back on track. You were like #1 every time what were you thinking??? I ended up voting for Carrie Underwood this week. I think that’s her name. She’s the blonde chick who did that song by Heart. I got goose bumps when I heard it… she’s been known for doing country songs every time she gets up there but this time she did a pop song and she sang it better than anyone else there!! Silly me called the American Idol lines a million times and voted for her. Hehe you still can… 1-866-IDOLS-02 — that’s the number to vote for Carrie. I like Nadia too but this week my hat goes off to Carrie. You go girl.

i’m super impressed with the detail on that portrait. you are really growing as an artist. if you are ever in l.a., i’d pose for you anytime (i actually do have experience as an art model, and could hook you up with a whole host of l.a. art models).
